Kitty Van Der Heiden Visit
Working with UNICEF as videographer to cover Kitty van der Heijden’s visit to Cambodia. Kitty is the Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF, so it was important to show the vital work the UNICEF Cambodia are doing in terms of youth development and climate activism. Siem Reap has become particularly vulnerable to extreme heat and drought. The temperatures when we filmed were a testament to this.
2 Videos about projects by young climate activists
It was a pleasure to work with UNICEF as videographer to film and edit 2 videos about young people’s projects about improving the environment and mitigating climate change. It was a last-minute decision to make the videos, but the remit was clear and even though they were filmed and edited to a very quick turnaround, the videos were well-received.
Generation Future
It was great to work with UNICEF on a number of videos about their Generation Future Project. Generation Future is a great project that provides young Cambodian entrepreneurs with training and mentorship before they train other young Khmers about their vision for the future. I made 2 videos which gave an overview of the project activities and two case studies about Panha, a young student who was mentoring other students in STEM subjects. It was great to highlight a strong female, as girls are underrepresented in STEM subjects, and to see the progress Panha made over the year.
Animated video about completing the sangkat budget template for UNICEF
I was producer and director on this video for UNICEF about changes to the protocol for sangkats across Cambodia when completing their budgets. The changes are aimed at making the process more transparent. The video was a used to educate people at the sangkat level about the changes to the procedures and how to implement them.
Training Video for teachers on UNICEF and LEGO’s Build the Change Project
I was a videographer on this video to train teachers about how to use the LEGO teaching packs they were supplied with run activities in their classroom.
As a child, I grew up playing with LEGO, so it was great to see young Cambodians making creative solutions to a set of problems using LEGO.
Training video for CTP Focal Points on changes to pro-poor payments during Covid-19 - UNICEF and MoSVY
I was producer and director on this training video for UNICEF. The video leads the viewer through the changes to pro-poor payments made during Covid-19, including the procedure and the appropriate language and manner to use. It also trains them about how to use the app to register and process people on the system
