Video journalist & self-shooting producer — Cambodia & Southeast Asia
Based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, I am available for video journalism and self-shooting producer assignments across Southeast Asia and worldwide.
What I offer:
I work across the full editorial and camera pipeline, from identifying and shaping the story, planning the shoot, operating camera, recording sound, editing and delivering broadcast-ready footage and edited packages to a quick turnaround. I have extensive experience working independently as a sole operator and alongside directors, field producers, sound recordists and second camera operators, and am fully adaptable to all shooting situations.
How I work:
I am equally comfortable pitching an editorial angle to a producer as I am operating a multicam interview setup. On the CNA Insider border dispute documentary, I identified the missing Cambodian perspective, worked with the episode producer to refine the approach, and was filming at the Poipet crossing within 24 hours of the commission.
Kit:
I have built a lightweight, agile kit designed for sole operator field work.
Sony FX6, Sony A7S III and Sony A7 IV, enabling multicam setups with the flexibility to shoot across multiple configurations including gimbal, handheld and tripod
Sennheiser MKH 416 shotgun mic and three Sennheiser G4 radio mics for broadcast-quality audio in any environment
Battery powered lighting kit for field interviews including in remote locations without power, with additional studio lighting available when the situation allows
DJI Air 3 for aerial footage
Availability:
Based in Phnom Penh with deep knowledge of Cambodia and the wider region. Available for fast-turnaround reactive assignments, planned documentary shoots and current affairs productions across Southeast Asia and worldwide.
You can see my most recent work in the field in the CNA Insider documentaries Behind The Thailand–Cambodia Feud That Could Topple The Thai Government and Cambodia's Mega Canal Has Vietnam Worried: What Does It Mean for the Mekong?
