Innovations Against Poverty – An NGO video for SNV

I was commissioned to work as a videographer on this video showcasing the support that SNV provide to entrepreneurs in Cambodia.

The video focusses on WeVenture, a startup that provides clean, piped, drinking water to people living in Prek Chik commune. It was great to see how providing this water to people has a positive impact on their lives in many ways. Hopefully, WeVenture will expand their operations, as planned, and provide safe water to people all over Cambodia.

I produced, directed and edited this video to show the great work that SNV do in managing the Innovations Against Poverty Fund. The fund supports entrepreneurs who develop solutions to improve the lives of poor people living in rural communities. This documentary shows the work done by WeVenture, who deliver safe, clean piped water to people in Prek Chik commune in Battambang.

Cambodia Run Challenge, an NGO video

It was great to team up with TGF again to work as a videographer for the Cambodia Run Challenge at the end of 2019.

Mark, Alex and Johnny did a great job and raised much needed funds for TGF. As TGF is a small NGO a large percentage of the money reaches the beneficiaries, so it’s definitely a worthwhile cause. To find about more about the 2020 edition, check out the Cambodia Run website.

Working as a video journalist in Cambodia

I was called by Jack Highwood from Elephant Valley Project to tell me that Sambo, a female elephant from Kampong Speu Province, had trampled her owner and was running amok. I travelled down with him and his team of mahouts over the following days to cover story as a video journalist (VJ).

Jack’s team and a team from Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center monitored Sambo, before transporting her to the rescue centre.

I’ve since worked as a video journalist for the Phnom Penh Post and international agencies including AFP. I look forward to covering more stories in Cambodia and throughout the region.

A news piece I made Sambo, an elephant that killed its owner and then went on the rampage.
